I got back into Denver around 9pm and made my way to my friend Penney’s place where I was going to stay on her couch. It felt very strange being back in Denver so soon and nerve racking. On the bus I’d gotten a voicemail from Angie in response to me saying I was coming back and she simply said call her when I get in.
I walked another three miles through downtown and back up Colfax which I’d walked west on that past September. Across the street from Penney’s I finally got up the gusto and called Angie back. It was a good talk and one that went on for about an hour or so.
The next day I went to see her, still unsure of what was going to happen, but a little more at ease after talking the night before. We hugged and talked for most of the afternoon and by the next day I started looking for a job and an apartment to settle myself into Denver for good. The issues are still to be fully resolved, my sanity is still to be reclaimed, but ultimately it seems that everything is going in the right directions despite all the havoc.
