Day 92 – Sunday, July 13, 2003

Hanging with Shannon and the Fam in Farmington, MO

Steve was leaving as I woke up that morning so I figured I’d hang around for a bit and pack up then say goodbye when he got back. After three bowls of Cheerios and a cup of coffee the news had cycled the same stories three times so I figured he went some where for the day. Leaving a little note I headed out.

Down the road there wasn’t much in the way of stores. I pretty much just wandered then sat, then wandered then sat. It was a nice little walk. I got into Farmington around 3 or 4 and had lunch at a Mexican place on the edge of town. The guys in there got all excited and chatted with me for a bit which was nice.

Just a little bird house

After I called Shannon and met him at a little league game down the road. I think people thought strange thoughts about a drifter wandering around a little league game until I found my connection and sat down with a fudgesicle. I had a good time watching the little leaguers run around missing pop fly’s into center field and just about every throw. It reminded me of how I play ball now.

I found out after the game that the reason I couldn’t figure out who was on what team was because there were no real teams and no score kept, it was all just for the pure fun of it. Meeting up with Shannon and his son, Zach, he gave me directions to his house since I refused to ride and set off for the house. On my way I met a lady who offered to put me up, but when I told her where I was going she gave me new directions which I followed into getting lost a bit. Silly me.

When I got in they let me shower then I hung out with him and his wife, Jen, and some friends that came by. At night we hung out by the TV then I passed out on their couch. It was another happy night.

On to the next day-->
